Three Saskatoon women are expected to appear in Provincial Court today following an investigation into cocaine trafficking.
On March 8, 2013 members of the Saskatoon Integrated Drug Unit (SIDU) with assistance from the Emergency Response Team (ERT) executed a search warrant at a home in the 100 block of Avenue S South. ERT was utilized in case there were firearms present in the home. Inside, officers located 2.5 grams of powder cocaine, 13 pre-packed needles of cocaine, approximately 100 unused needles, four cell phones, $485 in cash, and a variety of weapons including knives, swords and axes. No firearms were located however officers found the door heavily barricaded.
Three female occupants were taken into custody. The women, ages 45, 26 and 24, are facing charges of possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of the proceeds of crime.
SIDU was assisted in it’s investigation with information provided by Safer Homes and Communities (SCAN).
SIDU is an integrated unit made up of SPS members and members of RCMP “F” Division.
