News Release: Assault

Saskatoon Police have charged a 37-year-old male with assault following a traffic incident yesterday.

At approximately 4:30 p.m., March 6, 2013, Police were called to the area of Idylwyld Drive and 20th Street East to investigate an assault which followed a traffic collision. Both vehicles were traveling northbound on Idylwyld Drive and were attempting to turn left onto 20th Street when the vehicle driven by the 37-year-old male cut in front of the victim’s vehicle, causing a minor accident. The male driver exited his vehicle, yelling at the 22-year-old female victim. When she rolled down her window, she was struck in the face.

The male driver has been charged with assault and issued a ticket under the Traffic Safety Act for Driving without Reasonable Consideration for Others.
