News Release: Traffic Stop / Drug Bust

Two Saskatoon men are scheduled to appear in Provincial Court on Monday, March 4, 2013, following a traffic stop and drug bust.

Members of the SPS Traffic Unit were on patrol at approximately 8:30 p.m, Sunday, March 3, 2013, when they conducted a traffic stop on McPherson Avenue near 5th Street East.  During the course of issuing a ticket to the driver for driving without a license, officers noticed what appeared to be items connected to drug trafficking.  These include multiple, ringing cell phones, marihuana, baggies, and cash.

The two men, ages 26 and 24, are facing charges of trafficking in marihuana and possession of the proceeds of crime.

Consider, because the law continues to demonize marijuana use, these are the types of people users are forced to deal with. As it’s been demonstrated that many users are finding it to be the most beneficial medicine they can find for their needs, it essentially creates a dependency on criminal people.
Yet another reason to legalize some of the soft organic drugs. (Never opium please, or other hard bio drugs or chem drugs) Also, I’d like to mention that the current prescription system is failing utterly even for the rare few who qualify.
