The second of two men responsible for an armed robbery, which occurred at a convenience store located in the 100 block of Ruth Street East on January 8, 2013, just prior to 10:00 p.m., was arrested today.
Following an investigation conducted by officers with the General Investigations Section, a 44 year old man was arrested on Saturday, March 2, 2013, at 11:50 a.m., at a residence located in the 1300 block of Idylwyld Drive North. A 30 year old man was initially arrested on January 31, 2013, and charged with Armed Robbery in relation to the incident. He was later released by a Justice of the Peace with a scheduled court appearance set for February 19, 2013.
The 44 year old male is charged with the offence of Armed Robbery and is scheduled to appear before a Justice of the Peace on Sunday, March 3, 2013.
At approximately 9:45 p.m. on January 8, 2013, two men entered the convenience store, one armed with a knife, and stole an undisclosed amount of lottery tickets. The suspects then left the store without further incident, and fled in a white car, believed to be a four door.
There were no injuries.
